Ultratherma — frequently asked questions

Is Ultratherma the same as HIFU?

Both use ultrasound, but they are not the same. Ultratherma uses medical-grade Micro-Focused Ultrasound (MFU) delivered at fixed, precise depths in licensed clinics — unlike many cosmetic-grade HIFU devices found in salons, which vary in power, depth control and operator training.

How long does Ultratherma last?

Results build gradually over 8–12 weeks as your body produces new collagen, and typically last 12 months or longer, depending on the individual.

Is there any downtime?

No. Ultratherma is a non-invasive, walk-in walk-out treatment. The skin's surface is left intact — mild redness or tenderness may occur for a few hours, but most people return to normal activity immediately.

Does Ultratherma hurt?

Most people feel brief warmth or a tingling sensation as the energy is delivered beneath the skin — a sign the collagen-building process has started. Comfort varies, and your provider can tailor settings to suit you.

Who can perform Ultratherma?

Ultratherma is a dermatology-grade device available only to certified medical and dermatology clinics. Treatments are performed by qualified healthcare professionals to ensure safety and consistency.

Am I a suitable candidate?

Ultratherma suits adults with mild to moderate skin laxity, often from the 30s onwards. Suitability is confirmed during a one-on-one consultation. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or over metal implants, pacemakers, active infections or inflammatory skin conditions in the treatment area.
